Simama Tanzania Launches a Modern Metal Crown Caps Factory in Kigamboni

SimamaTZ Company Limited has officially launched the Simama Metal Crown Caps factory in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam. It is a major milestone in our journey to strengthen local manufacturing and contribute to Tanzania's industrial growth.
 

A Launch Officiated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade

The Minister for Industry and Trade, Hon. Judith Salvio Kapinga (MP), was the guest of honour. She was joined by the Kigamboni District Commissioner, Hon. Dalmia Mikaya. The event brought together representatives from government, the private sector, industry bodies, partners, customers and our team. The Minister unveiled the factory's commemorative plaque, and SimamaTZ presented plaques of appreciation to its distinguished guests.

Government Commitment to Local Investors

In a message after the launch, Hon. Judith Kapinga congratulated SimamaTZ as Tanzanian investors for their major investment in a crown cap factory. She also pledged the Government's continued support:

"Tutaendelea kuwasaidia katika kutafuta soko na kuhakikisha bidhaa za Tanzania zinaendelea kuwa na soko la ndani na nje ya nchi."

("We will continue to support them in finding markets and ensuring Tanzanian products continue to have markets both at home and abroad.")

The Minister also praised the Kigamboni District Commissioner, Hon. Dalmia Mikaya, for her work in promoting investment in the district and for the excellent preparations for the launch.

The factory produces standard 26mm tinplate crown caps engineered for high-speed bottling lines. Customers can choose from:

  • Full-colour custom printing, Pantone colour matching and limited-edition designs
  • Under-cap printing for promotions and consumer campaigns
  • PVC-free or PVC liners, including pry-off options
  • Bulk supply with flexible contracts and long-term agreements with locked pricing

Every batch goes through quality control for dimensional accuracy, seal integrity and liner adhesion. Every batch must also meet international food-contact safety standards.
